The Carpe Diem is a 4 deck 115 feet liveaboard accompanied by a 55 feet diving dhoni (boat), catering for 20 guests at a time divided over 10 cabins of different categories. The Carpe Diem started cruising in October 2008.
What makes the Carpe Diem so unique?
Scuba Diving
On the Carpe Diem special attention has been paid to the diving department by the design of the separate diving dhoni. The diving dhoni is equipped with a hot water shower and a toilet, two fresh water showers, rinse tanks, 3 compressors (Bauer and Coltri), Nitrox Nuvair system and was entirely built to the needs and comfort of the divers today. All diving equipment stays on the diving dhoni during the length of the trips away from the mother boat.
The Carpe Diem offers standard 3 dives per day, weather conditions permitting, during her normal cruises.
For those who don’t dive yet and would like to learn, there is the possibility of learning how to dive with our fully licensed PADI dive school on board. Our team will be more than happy to introduce you to the wonderful underwater world.
However is diving is not your thing and you would like to accompany your partner/friend/family on their diving trip there are plenty of other activities to enjoy.
Salsa dancing
What makes the Carpe Diem different from other Maldivian liveaboards is the possibility to participate in a Salsa workshop during your cruise. SALSA dancing is not limited by weather conditions and can be done at any time in different areas of the boat. However since the person able to introduce you to this fun dance by means of a basic workshop does not normally stay on the boat, this can only be organised when requested prior to the trip.
Sports fishing
As an extra activity for the fishing lovers, the Carpe Diem has the availability of a speed boat for rent for trolling, big game fishing and night fishing. The speed boat can be rented by the hour or per day, but has to be booked in advance. For more detailed information check under activities.
Surfing
For the surf season 2012 (June, July and August), the Carpe Diem will be catering for surfing groups and will have an experienced surf guide on board and special itineraries for the surf lovers amongst you.
